'Chehre' Box Office Collection Day 1: Amitabh Bachchan-Emraan Hashmi's Film Starts On A Slow Note

Chehre Box Office report: Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi's mystery thriller couldn't perform as per expectations.

Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Chehre’, which released on August 27, couldn’t perform as per expectations on its opening day at the box office. Although the mystery thriller received good reviews from the critics, it couldn’t set the cash registers jingling. ‘Chehre’ is the second major film to arrive in the cinema halls after several state governments lifted the restrictions, which were imposed to combat the second wave of COVID-19 in India.

‘Chehre’ Day One Box Office Collection

According to a report in Koimoi, the much-awaited flick earned around Rs 50 lakh on its first day. While trade pundits expected ‘Chehre’ to rake in close to Rs 1 crore, the film started on a slow note at the box office.

Many cinema halls are operating with fifty percent capacity, which has also affected the theatrical business. Maharashtra government is yet to give permission to the owners of cinema halls and multiplexes to resume operations. It remains to be seen if 'Chehre' picks up pace in the next few days or not.

‘Chehre’ Star Cast

The film, which has been directed by Rumi Jafry, marked the Bollywood debut of popular TV star Krystle D’Souza. While Big B played the role of a lawyer, Emraan Hashmi portrayed the character of a business tycoon. The movie also starred Rhea Chakraborty, Anu Kapoor and Raghubir Yadav were also seen in pivotal roles.

Rhea Chakraborty, who remained in headlines post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, played the role of Anna. She didn’t feature in the promotional posters of ‘Chehre’, which sparked rumours that she is not a part of the film.

After BellBottom & Chehre, Thalaiavi to Arrive In Theatres

Akshay Kumar starrer 'BellBottom', which released on August 19, became the first Hindi film to hit the silver screens after the last quarter was affected by the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic. All eyes are on 'Thalaivi' as the movie is slated to release next month. Kangana Ranaut's film has managed to create anticipation among the audience, courtesy the trailer.

'Thalaivi' is based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The film, which is releasing in three languages, will entertain the audience from September 10, 2021.
