Casting Coup: Amitabh Bachchan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kartik Aaryan to be PART of Aankhen 2?

New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Sushmita Sen and Paresh Rawal starrer Aankhen remains one of popular heist thriller films in Bollywood. The Vipul Amrutlal Shah directorial received critical acclaim when it was released in 2002. Movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for Aankhen 2 and it seems their wish has finally come true. According to a report in a leading daily, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan will join Amitabh Bachchan in Aankhen 2. The film will be produced by RajTaru Studios, who won the court battle against the original producer of Aankhen- Gaurang Doshi, the report added. Big B, who played the role of Vijay Singh Rajput in Aankhen, has been retained for the second installment. The producers are currently busy finalising the other actors for the film “Talks with Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan are in the final stages. The rest of the names will be in place soon as well,” a source told DNA. The source also added that Senior Bachchan’s character drives the sequel and there’s no way he won’t be part of Aankhen 2. A release date for the film is yet to be revealed. For the uninitiated, Gaurang Doshi had announced Aankhen 2 in August 2016 with Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Arshad Warsi and Regina Cassandra as the main cast. The film couldn’t see the light of the day as it got embroiled in a legal battle, the report said. Other than the Sujoy Ghosh directorial, the Kaun Banega Crorepati host will be seen in Aamir Khan-Katrina Kaif’s Thugs of Hindostan and Ranbir Kapoor & Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Fault in our Stars’ Hindi remake went on floors last week. The Kai Po Che actor recently wrapped up the shooting of Kedarnath where he will seen opposite Sara Ali Khan. Rajput has also Chanda Mama Door Ke and Son Chiriya in his kitty. (Sushant in a still from Raabta) Kartik Aaryan, who is basking in the glory of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, will soon start shooting for Luka Chuppi. The Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor will play the role of a TV reporter opposite Kriti Sanon in the film.
