Bollywood Cameraperson, Who Worked With Big & Ranbir Kapoor, Is Now Selling Momos In Cuttack After COVID-19 Lockdown

Camera assistant Suchismita Routray, who worked with leading Bollywood biggies including Amitabh Bachchan, is now selling momos to earn a living for her family.

The COVID-19 pandemic severely affected the functioning of several countries, bringing the world to a standstill. The government had to implement lockdown to combat the spread of the deadly virus. The shoot for several films, TV shows, web series and ads was put on halt for many days. While the celebrities managed to survive the high tide due to their savings, the camerapersons, technical workers, junior artist and daily wage workers had to suffer due to lack of work.

It’s not easy to survive in a city like Mumbai especially when you are out of work. Many people, who worked in the film industry, lost their jobs and faced financial crisis after the COVID-19 lockdown was introduced. Some continued to stay hopeful while others decided to switch professions.

Camera assistant Suchismita Routray, who worked with Bollywood biggies like Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, had to go back to her hometown Cuttack due to lack of work in the industry during the lockdown.

Routray, who worked as a camera assistant for six long years in Bollywood, is now selling momos to earn an income. She didn’t even have the money to buy tickets for returning home.

Suchismita managed to get some money after Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan came forward to help the junior artists and other industry workers during the COVID-19 crisis. She is currently earning Rs 300-400 per day by selling momos on the streets of Cuttack.
