Mumbai: Bipasha Basu, who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Ajnabee’, completed 20 years in the Hindi film industry on Tuesday (September 21). The Bengali beauty went down the memory lane and shared a heartfelt post to celebrate 20 years of her first film and her successful journey in cinema.  

Bipasha expressed gratitude towards her producer and directors- Abbas-Mastan while penning her thoughts on social media. She also thanked her fans for showering her with love and support. 

“This is the first day when the audiences welcomed me into their hearts, 20 years back … my first film ajnabee released on 21st September 2001. It doesn’t feel like so much time has passed ,as the love that I get from my fans, well wishers ,the film fraternity and the media is still so strong . I am grateful for this love forever,” Basu wrote. 

“#ajnabee will be special to me forever. I am thankful for my directors Abbas Bhai and Mustan Bhai, producer Vijay Galani, all my co actors - @akshaykumar @iambobbydeol @kareenakapoorkhan, my first ever team (@rockystarofficial @hairbyykaushall and Anil Dad ) … and the entire unit. It’s been a beautiful journey from then to now. I am truly blessed,” the ‘Raaz’ actress wrote.  

Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Singh Grover and other tinsel town celebs dropped comments on the post. 

Ajnabee Star Cast 

The mystery thriller also starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bobby Deol in lead roles. The film emerged as a semi-hit at the box office upon its release. Bipasha won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her performance in ‘Ajnabee’. 

Bipasha Basu’s Upcoming Films 

On the professional front, the ‘Jism’ actress was last seen in ‘Dangerous’ opposite her husband Karan Singh Grover. The web series, which premiered on MX Player, marked the digital debut of Bipasha.  

Basu has been missing from the silver screens since a long time. She is yet to announce her next project.
