Bihar Actor's Film Champaran Mutton Enters The Semifinals For Oscar’s Student Academy Award

New Delhi: In the heartland of Bihar, an aspiring actor named Falak Khan from Muzaffarpur has reason to celebrate as her short film 'Champaran Mutton' has achieved a remarkable feat. Directed by Ranjan Kumar, a talented filmmaker from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, the film has successfully advanced to the semifinal round of the coveted Oscar's Student Academy Award. 

Falak Khan, the lead actor in 'Champaran Mutton,' couldn't contain her excitement as she spoke about the film's journey. In a conversation with ANI, she expressed her deep gratitude towards the entire team for their collective efforts in bringing this touching story to life.  

“I am thankful to the entire team and this achievement. This is the result of the hard work that we all put in,” she told ANI. 

The film delves into the struggles faced by middle-class families, providing an intimate glimpse into the everyday problems they endure. 

Set against the backdrop of rural Bihar, the story revolves around a young man who finds himself unemployed during the challenging period of lockdown when countless people lost their jobs. Despite facing personal hardships, the protagonist embarks on a heartfelt journey to win the love of a woman he deeply cares for. The narrative beautifully captures the resilience and determination of individuals amid difficult circumstances, resonating with audiences on a universal level. 

The Oscar's Student Academy Award is a prestigious recognition for emerging talents in the world of filmmaking. Out of more than 1,700 films submitted from various film training institutes worldwide, 'Champaran Mutton' proudly earned its place among the top contenders. Falak Khan expressed her confidence and hope that her film would make it to the final round, vying for the ultimate honor.
