Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Durgavati’ Is Now Titled ‘Durgamati: The Myth’; Producer Akshay Kumar Unveils The New Title With A Poster

New Delhi: ‘Durgamati: The Myth’ (earlier titled ‘Durgavati’) is an upcoming female-centric horror thriller film starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role of an IAS officer. Directed by G. Ashok, this film is a remake of the 2018 Telugu film ‘Bhaagamathie’ which starred ‘Baahubali’ actor Anushka Shetty portraying the role of the protagonist. In the poster, Bhumi can be seen looking through the mirror with bruises on her face and her bindi partially rubbed off. Other than Bhumi Pednekar, the movie also stars Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta, Mahie Gill and Karan Kapadia. The plot of the movie revolves around an IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan, who becomes victim of a major conspiracy involving powerful forces. She is imprisoned in a haunted house while being interrogated by law enforcers in a corruption case. The protagonist Bhumi earlier told while interacting with the media, “It's a very new narrative and a new story for me.
