Batti Gul Meter Chalu Box office collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor- Shraddha Kapoor’s film starts on a DECENT note
Shahid Kapoor- Shraddha Kapoor’s much-awaited film ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, which hit the silver screens on September 21, has started on a decent note at the box office. After delivering the superhit ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, Shree Narayan Singh has managed to win hearts once again with the new social drama. The film deals with inflated electricity bills and electricity theft in rural parts of India and has been making buzz ever since the trailer was unveiled. ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ Day 1 box office stood at Rs 6.76 crore.
Shahid and Shraddha’s last releases –‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Stree’ have set the cash registers jingling and trade pundits are expecting BGMC to do the same. The two actors had previously worked in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Haider’ and fans are super excited to see them together once again
Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ box office collection on Twitter.
‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, which also stars Yami Gautam and Divyendu Sharma, is set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand. The film has received mixed reviews from the critics and it is yet to be seen if it will affect it’s box office. ‘Batti Gul’ is Shahid’s first film after his son Zain Kapoor was born.
