Barbie vs Oppenheimer Box Office Collection Day 2: Nolan's Film Earns Rs 17 Crore In India; Outshines Margot Robbie Starrer

New Delhi: This month, the films 'Barbie', directed by Greta Gerwig, and 'Oppenheimer', helmed by Christopher Nolan, were released in theatres. With slightly less astounding numbers for 'Barbie', the Barbenheimer is currently dominating the Indian box office. The box office earnings of Nolan's movie, which opened in theatres on Friday, is still going strong in India. 

On the second day after its release, the Cillian Murphy starrer brought in Rs 17 crore. On the other hand, the movie with Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie in the key roles made over Rs 6 crore. 

According to initial estimates, Barbie made Rs 6.50 crore net on its second day in India, according to a report from Sacnilk.com. As of now, the movie has made a total of Rs 11.50 crore. The movie also stars Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Alexandra Shipp, Simu Liu, and Dua Lipa in addition to Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Meanwhile, according to a report from Sacnilk.com, 'Oppenheimer' made an estimated Rs 17 crore in India. On its first day of release, the movie earned Rs 14.50 crore. Currently, the film has Rs 31.50 crore in total earnings.

The film review on ABP Live reads: Nolan delivers his trademark gripping narrative, a top-notch ensemble cast led by Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer, and breathtaking cinematography. To zero it down, Murphy's peering eyes and the musical score, which does more than half of the work without the actor uttering a single word, are two of the elements that stand out to hold your undivided focus. Nolan steers clear of telling a conventional story about Oppenheimer's fall from glory, given that he is known for taking atypical paths in his movies. He goes on to switch back and forth between a drawn-out probing session and the colossal moments that came before it.
