‘Proud Of You’: Khushi Kapoor & Other Celebs Support Anurag Kashyap’s Daughter Aaliyah As She Calls Out Haters For Online Rape Threats

Anurag Kashyap's daughter Aaliyah Kashyap shared a long post to slam the haters for passing derogatory remarks against her. She said that she received rape threats for posting a picture from her lingerie shoot.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap took to social media to call out the users, who passed ‘derogatory and disgusting’ comments against her for sharing a picture from her lingerie shoot. The star kid claimed that she received rape threats after she posted the photo from her shoot on Instagram. She penned a long note on her official Instagram handle to slam the haters and highlight the issue of online harassment which women have to deal with.

Aaliyah said that she considered deleting her Instagram handle and tried to ignore the harassment. She called out the people for staging protests and holding candle marches for a woman when she is sexually assaulted but ‘not protecting her while she is alive’.

The star kid shared screenshots of the vile messages she received from different users on Instagram. She wrote, “Nothing I do or post is an invitation for sexual assault. Nothing any woman does, ever can be. So instead of policing women how to dress or how to act, we should unteach men the predatory behavior that has been so normalized in our society.” Check out her full post!

The 20-year-old revealed that she was sexually assaulted by a middle aged man when she was a minor. "I have grown up with these kinds of comments to the point where it culminated into me being sexually assaulted as a minor by a middle aged man,” Aaliyah said in her post.

Janhvi Kapoor’s sister Khushi Kapoor, who is a close friend of Aaliyah, supported her for taking a stand against online harassment. She wrote, “I love you. I am proud of you.”

Anurag Kashyap’s ex-wife Kalki Koechlin and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ actress Aditi Bhatia also dropped comments on the post.

Aaliyah, who is the daughter of Anurag Kashyap and his first Aarti Bajaj, often shares photos on Instagram. Her parents were divorced in 2009. The filmmaker is currently busy shooting for his upcoming project with Taapsee Pannu.
