New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’, which was released on Friday (December 1), had a terrific opening with Rs 63.80 crore at the domestic box office. The film collected Rs 116 crore gross at the worldwide box office on its first day of release. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga is expected to perform even better on the second day.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film is expected to collect Rs 66 crore on the second day across all languages in India. As per the portal, the film had already minted Rs 30 crore till 4:30 pm on Saturday. The film, also starring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, had 57.05 percent Hindi occupancy on Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, Production house T-Series shared the opening day collection of the film, which was given A certificate by the CBFC ahead of its release.

"He has come to conquer all the records #AnimalHuntBegins ... The biggest non-holiday opening in Hindi cinema ever worldwide gross Rs 116 crore," T-Series posted on X.

The film showcases a violent world set against the backdrop of a troubled relationship between Ranbir’s Ranvijay Singh and his father Balbir Singh, played by Anil Kapoor Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures, the film released on Friday in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

ABP Live's review of the film reads, "Vanga tries to take us to a time when men were the community's protectors and providers. He offers an exaggerated portrayal of what it means to express love to defend the deeds of his character. Presumably, he is lambasting the movies of this era that redefine the ideal man's persona by making him less toxic and more poignant. The film's violence makes your skin crawl, but you can get over it since the director conveys how the people live in a world where there is no norm and the game is played that way. That being said, this time around, the abuse and disrespect for women that was brought out in his previous movies has intensified."
