Anil Kapoor clicks pictures, beams with joy as Sonam receives National Award!

Sonam Kapoor was on Wednesday conferred with her first ever National Award as she was presented with a 'Special Mention' at the 64th National Film Awards held in New Delhi.

64th National Film Awards: ‘Neerja’, Akshay Kumar & Sonam Kapoor wins big! Apart from Sonam, and her rumoured boyfriend Anand Ahuja, who was also present at the event, her father and 'ageless' actor Anil Kapoor was seemingly beaming with joy. Sonam Kapoor & Akshay Kumae with Surabhi Jyoti.

President Pranab Mukherjee and the Government of India have given this award to Sonam, so this day is really big and important for me, my family and Sonam. It is a very well deserved award for 'Neerja'," the 60-year-old told ANI, as he emerged out of the ceremony. Sonam Kapoor and Shubhashish Bhutiani were awarded special mentions for Neerja and Mukti Bhawan respectively. Neerja was also awarded the Best Hindi Film award.
