Amid Nepotism Backlash, Karan Johar Removed As Co-Producer Of Sooryavanshi By Akshay Kumar & Rohit Shetty? Here’s The Truth!

Social media is at abuzz with reports that Karan Johar has been dropped as co-producer of the much -hyped Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi"

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely & tragic death sparked a new debate of nepotism in Bollywood with a lot of celebs on the receiving end on social media by angry netizens. One such celebrity is filmmaker Karan Johar who is probably receiving the maximum ire of fans for promoting star-kids in Bollywood that makes it difficult for the outsiders to survive in the industry. And on Wednesday, social media was abuzz with reports that Karan Johar has been dropped as co-producer of the much -hyped Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" since he was on a receiving end by angry fans since Rajput's death which might affect the film's business. The reports further claim that, film's director Rohit Shetty and lead star Akshay Kumar have dropped Johar's Dharma Productions and its share from the film, and that they had even returned Johar's investment in the film. However makers of Sooryavanshi refuted all these reports as fake news saying that Johar is very much a part of the film as a co-producer. Soon, the film's producers and presenter Reliance Entertainment were confirming that the news doing rounds of Johar not being part of "Sooryavanshi" is incorrect. The news comes a day after it was announced that the film will release in theatres during Diwali this year. In "Sooryavanshi", Akshay will be seen as ATS officer Veer Sooryavanshi, on a lookout for terrorists planning a deadly strike on Mumbai. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will also reprise their roles of Singham and Simmba in cameos, to help Akshay bust the terror plot. Actress Katrina Kaif will be seen as Veer Sooryavanshi's wife while Jackie Shroff plays the antagonist. "Sooryavanshi" also features Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Niharica Raizada, Sikandar Kher and Nikitin Dheer. The film is presented by Reliance Entertainment.
