Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who once shared a close association with Amar Singh, posted a monochrome picture of himself on Twitter and Instagram. Big B didn’t write anything in the caption while posting the photo. The 'Brahmastra' actor's head was down which implicated that he was saddened by Amar Singh’s demise.

The '1o2 Not Out' actor, who is undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at Nanavati hospital, also shared the same picture on his official blog. He wrote, "“शोक ग्रस्त, मस्तिष्क झुका , प्रार्थनाएँ केवल रहीं, निकट प्राण, सम्बंध निकट, वो आत्मा नहीं रही! (I am grieving his loss. Only prayers are left. We have lost a close bond.)"

Amar Singh was once very close to the Bachchan family but their relationship took a hit after the politician made remarks against the 'Deewar' actor. Singh had extended support to the 'Gulabo Sitabo' actor when his company ABCL was facing financial issues.
Jaya Bachchan started her political innings with the help of Singh in 2004. The 'Sholay' actress is a Rajya Sabha member from the Samajwadi Party, a position she has held since 2004.
Singh's friendship with the Bachchans soured after he was expelled from SP in 2010. He was miffed with Jaya Bachchan's decision to stay with the party.
Amar Singh was also unhappy as Big B didn't come to meet him when he was languishing in jail in 2011. This was the final straw in their friendship which dated back to the 90s.
Earlier this year, Amar Singh posted a tweet and said that he regretted his decision of 'over reacting' against Senior Bachchan and his family.
"Today is my father's death anniversary and I got a message for the same from @SrBachchan ji. At this stage of life when I am fighting a battle of life and death I regret for my over reaction against Amit ji and family. God bless them all," he wrote.
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor paid tribute to Amar Singh on Twitter. The 'Mr. India' producer shared a picture with Singh from Sonam Kapoor's wedding reception.
"Some people are gone, but never forgotten.People rarely stand for others anymore. Amar Singh was one such soul who stood by me and all his friends in troubled times. He fought many storms in his life. For himself and others. You will live in my thoughts for ever #RIP #AmarSingh," Kapoor wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Shabana Azmi offered her condolences to Singh's family. Her tweet read, "Sorry to hear about the untimely passing away of #Amar Singhji. My condolences to the family."
Tina Ambani tweeted, "He was family, a brother to Anil and I. A kind man, gentle soul and a wonderful friend, it's hard to believe Amar Singhji has left us. Deepest condolences to Pankaja, Dhrishti and Disha.
