New Delhi: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt received critical acclaim for her performance as Safeena in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ co-starring Ranveer Singh. Recently, Kangana Ranaut in an interview expressed her displeasure on her performance in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ being compared with that of Alia Bhatt in ‘Gully Boy’. The ‘Queen’ actress had said that Alia’s performance in the film was mediocre, setting several tongues wagging.
"I am embarrassed. What is there to beat in Gully Boy Performance? Same snappy muh phat girl. Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised," Kangana had told BollywoodLife.
Alia Bhatt has finally reacted to the comments made by Kangana, while talking to an entertainment portal. The ‘Raazi’ actress said that she would focus on her work and Kangana might appreciate her if she worked hard. “I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough,’’ Alia told Bollywood Hungama. This is not the first time that Kangana Ranaut took a jibe at Alia Bhatt. The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress had accused Aamir Khan and Alia of not supporting ‘Manikarnika’. The ‘Student of the Year’ actress has reacted by saying that she would like to apologize to Kangana personally if she had any sort of complaints. Kangana had even slammed Alia’s beau Ranbir Kapoor for not taking a stand on politics. Alia responded back by saying that she had a opinion but she would like to keep it herself.
