Alia Bhatt and her family get DEATH THREATS; Caller demands for Rs 50 Lakh

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is busy these days in the promotion of her upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’ with actor Varun Dhawan. But complete Bhatt family went into shock when they received a death threat call from an unidentified person from a Uttar Pradesh cell number. The caller also demanded Rs 50 Lakh from Mahesh Bhatt and his family. The caller threatened them that if they fail to pay the amount, Alia and her mother Soni Razdan’s life will be in danger. The caller said if his instructions weren’t followed, he would kill Bhatt, Alia and Soni. His exact words were: “If you fail to do so, I will fire several rounds of bullets in your daughter Alia and wife Soni.” According to various news reports, the police registered an FIR late on Wednesday night, and recorded a statement from Bhatt's family. Soon the case was shifted to Mumbai Police's Anti Extortion Cell (ANC). Initially, Mahesh Bhatt thought it to be a prank but after threat call, he also received few text messages and it was then that Mahesh Bhatt informed police about it. While talking to India Today, a cop said “A case is registered under section 387 (causing a person to fear death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion.” Police also informed that security was increased around the Bhatt residence in Juhu. However, things are under control. Mahesh Bhatt tweeted about it and thanked Maharashtra Police.
