New Delhi: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan took to Twitter to thank fans for their wishes and prayers after he and his father Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for COVID-19. The ‘Guru’ actor also confirmed that his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya have tested positive for novel Coronavirus. They will self-quarantine at their home in Mumbai. The rest of Bachchan family including Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Nanda and her kids have tested negative.

“Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful.The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers,” Abhishek tweeted.



The ‘Manmarziyaan’ actor also gave an update about his father. Junior Bachchan said that he and Big B will remain in hospital till the doctors decide to discharge them. He also asked the people to follow the rules and stay cautious.

“My father and I remain in hospital till the doctors decide otherwise. Everyone please remain cautious and safe. Please follow all rules!,” Abhishek wrote on the micro-blogging site.



Big B and Abhishek have been admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. BMC workers sealed Bachchan's residence 'Jalsa' and the nearby areas, declaring the place as a containment zone.

Esha Deol prayed for Aishwarya, Abhishek, Amitabh and Aaradhya's recovery on social media. She tweeted, "Wishing & praying that Aishwariya & dearest Aaradhya along with Amit uncle & Abhishek have a speedy recovery ! Stay safe."
