Earlier in the day, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that the mother-daughter duo tested negative in their swab report. Aishwarya, Jaya and other family members were tested using the rapid antigen kit.
Fans breathed a sigh of relief after the news hit the internet. However, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner later revealed that Aishwarya and Aaradhya have tested positive for Coronavirus in their second test.
Unlike Amitabh Bachchan who has mild symptoms of the novel COVID-19 virus, the mother-daughter duo is found to be asymptomatic. According to the initial reports, BMC will take a written declaration from them if they want to take treatment at hospital or wish to be under home-quarantine.
With this, a total of 16 people from the house including domestic helpers and guards have tested positive while Jaya Bachchan has tested negative in the antigen test.
Meanwhile, BMC officials have sealed Bachchan's famed house Jalsa and sanitised the entire building after Amitabh and Abhishek tested positive for COVID-19. Several tinsel town celebs including Shatrughan Sinha, Kamal Haasan and Anil Kapoor wished Bachchan family a speedy recovery.
