BTS Comeback Update: How Long Until Min Yoongi aka Suga Completes Military Service?

With BTS members returning from military service one by one, all eyes are now on Min Yoongi, aka Suga, whose discharge date is just around the corner.

BTS fans around the world, lovingly known as ARMY, are counting down the days to what many have long awaited—a full-group reunion. With RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook already discharged from their mandatory military service, only Suga, born Min Yoongi, remains in uniform. The K-pop icon is expected to complete his service on June 21, 2025.

When is Suga getting discharged?

Due to a past shoulder injury, Suga was assigned to non-combat duties as a public service worker when he enlisted on September 22, 2023. The decision was made to ensure he could serve his country while taking care of his health.

Before rising to global stardom with BTS, Suga began his musical journey in the underground hip-hop scene of Daegu, South Korea. Influenced by groups like Epik High and Stony Skunk, he began writing lyrics at the age of 13. He worked in a recording studio and performed as part of a group called D-Town before being recruited by Big Hit Entertainment.

Suga joined BTS in 2013 alongside RM and J-Hope, initially as a music producer. Over time, he evolved into one of the band’s lead rappers and songwriters. He has also achieved critical acclaim for his solo work as Agust D, particularly his 2023 studio album "D-Day," which dropped just before his enlistment.

BTS Comeback

As BTS inches closer to a long-awaited comeback, their management company, HYBE Corporation, is already seeing a boost. Since the end of April 2025, HYBE’s stock has risen by 29%, fueled by growing speculation and anticipation of BTS’s return as a full group. With ARMYs keeping a close eye on every public appearance and teaser, fans recently spotted J-Hope wearing an outfit similar to the one used in BTS’ ‘Run BTS’ performance, sparking rumours of a rehearsal.

The excitement surrounding Suga's discharge and BTS's possible reunion is palpable. While official announcements are still awaited, the stars seem to be aligning for a comeback that could redefine the K-pop landscape once again.
