A bench of Justice Ashok Menon while considering the anticipatory bail plea of the actor, allowed the Crime Branch to interrogate her but only after serving a notice under 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to her.
Last week, an event manager Shiyas, who conducts events in Kochi, registered a complaint against Sunny Leone, accusing her of taking Rs 29 lakh from him and promising to attend different functions. The event manager alleged that the ‘Ragini MMS 2’ actress failed to keep her promise.
In his complaint, Shiyas alleged that Leone’s manager took money in installments from 2016 onwards and promised to attend five functions. He added that he had to file a complaint against her after she didn’t attend the events.
Acting on the complaint, Kerala police officials questioned actress Sunny Leone at a private resort in Trivandrum earlier this month on February 4. Sunny told the Crime Branch that her manager took the money and she even allotted dates for the same. The two sides faced issues as the event manager couldn’t comply with Leone’s dates.
