Kangana's Dhaakad To Be Replaced In Cinemas By Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, 3rd Highest Grossing Hindi Film of 2022
According to reports, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' has taken over the handful theatres that were playing 'Dhaakad'.
New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Dhaakad' has not performed so well at the box office in the opening weekend. In fact Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu starrer 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' has broken many box office records and taken over 'Dhaakad' completely. According to reports, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' has taken over the handful theatres that were playing 'Dhaakad'.
An E Times report quoted a source close to the development stating that many theatres are planning to remove 'Dhaakad' from screens due to low footfalls.
"A lot of theatres have reduced the shows but I have not done that. I have changed the theatre for ‘Dhaakad’. Because shows were getting cancelled, I shifted the movie from the 900-seater theatre to Gemini, which has 300 seats. I had to pull back ‘KGF 2’ in Galaxy. There are fewer audiences and since shows were getting cancelled in Galaxy, I was forced to take this move, Manoj Desair, executive director, G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir Cinema said.
On the other hand, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' has not only become Kartik Aaryan's highest grossing film but also has broken the dry spell for Bollywood films at box office.
According to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' has become the second biggest grossing Hindi film of 2022 post pandemic. Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' leads the way while Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' ranks number 3.
On Monday, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' collected Rs 10. 75 crores despite a working weekday.
Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 passes the make-or-break Monday Test... Collects in double digits - the second *#Hindi film* to hit double digits on *Day 4* in 2022... Eyes ₹ 88 cr [+/-] in Week 1... Fri 14.11 cr, Sat 18.34 cr, Sun 23.51 cr, Mon 10.75 cr. Total: ₹ 66.71 cr. #India biz."
Both 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' and 'Dhaakad' released on 20th May 2022.
