Jaya Bachchan Reacts To Controversial Dialogues On Madhuri Dixit & Aishwarya Rai In The Big Bang Theory: 'Gandi Zubaan...'

Dia Mirza also reacted to the derogatory comment of Kunal Nayyar and called it “disrespectful and distasteful."

New Delhi: The Big Bang Theory, one of Netflix's most-watched shows, is currently in news. Actor-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan responded to the show's insulting comment comparing two top-notch Bollywood actresses Madhuri Dixit & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

In the first episode of season two of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, Bollywood films are discussed between Kunal Nayyar's character Raj Koothrapalli and his buddy Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons. With Aishwarya Rai as an example, Madhuri Dixit is called a "lecherous prostitute" by Kunal Nayyar.

Reacting to the derogatory comment, actress Jaya Bachchan angrily told Etimes, "Is this man (Kunal Nayyar) insane? Badi gandi zubaan hai. He needs to be sent to mental asylum. His family should be asked what they think of his comment."

Dia Mirze and Urmila Matondkar also reacted. Dia called it “disrespectful and distasteful," while Urmila said, “What?! I have no idea about the whole episode, so I shouldn’t be commenting. But if it is true, it is beyond outrageous. It shows their extremely cheap mentality. Do they really think this is humorous?"

Author and political activist Mithun Vijay Kumar has filed a complaint against the streaming platform Netflix, demanding that they remove the episode in question from their service. In addition, he has warned legal action if the demand is not met.

His statement reads: “It is important to hold companies like Netflix accountable for their actions and to ensure that they are sensitive to the cultural values and sentiments of the communities they serve. I strongly believe that streaming service providers have a responsibility to carefully curate the content that they offer on their platforms. It is their duty to ensure that the material they present does not include derogatory, offensive, or defamatory content. I was deeply troubled by the use of a derogatory term in one of the shows on Netflix - Big Bang Theory. This term was used in reference to the acclaimed actress Madhuri Dixit, and it was not only offensive and deeply hurtful but also showed a lack of regard for her dignity."

The Big Bang Theory’ is a comedy series, co-created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, debuted on CBS in 2007 and ran for 12 seasons until 2019.
