Janhvi Kapoor, Anushka Sharma And Others Support Alia Bhatt By Sharing Similar Experiences Of 'Invasion Of Privacy'
Celebs have spoken out in Alia's defence. Janhvi Kapoor revealed that she was photographed unknowingly while working out at her gym.
New Delhi: On Tuesday, Alia Bhatt turned to Instagram to criticize what she called an "invasion of privacy" after discovering that paparazzi had been taking images of her from a neighbouring rooftop while she was at home. Some of Bollywood’s faces have commented in favour of Alia's post. Celebs have spoken out in Alia's defence, with several describing the event as "shameful" and "disgusting," including Arjun Kapoor, Shaheen Bhatt, Soni Razdan, Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor, Karan Johar, and Swara Bhasker.
Janhvi Kapoor, later in the day, voiced her own disapproval of the media outlet. She revealed that she was photographed unknowingly while working out at her gym.
The event has been deemed "sickening" by actress Swara Bhasker.
Anushka Sharma, who had a similar experience herself two years before, quickly turned to Instagram to share the story. The actress wrote, “This is not the first time they are doing this. About two years ago we called them out for the same reason! You’d think it would have made them more respectful of people’s space and privacy. Absolutely shameful! They were also the only guys posting photos of our daughter despite repeated requests!”
Karan Johar also said that privacy should be protected as a basic human right.
Arjun Kapoor addressed the event as stalking in his Instagram Story, writing, "Absolutely shameless. This is crossing all limits if a woman isn't feeling safe in her own home forget if she is a public figure or not for a second any sane person who takes photographs of public figures for a living needs to know that this is pathetic conduct & these are people in the media we have trusted and shown implicit faith in believing they are here to do a job not to make women feel unsafe or invade one's privacy. This is nothing short of stalking @mumbaipolice."
Alia's sister Shaheen Bhatt and mother Soni Razdan also posted stories on her support.
