'I Called Her Sis': Lilly Singh Recalls Her Mistake While Talking To Girls On Dating Apps

Lilly Singh provided a unique insight into how her dating experiences have changed after coming out.

New Delhi: The comedian and YouTuber Lily Singh came out publicly as bisexual in the year 2019. She's stayed quite secretive about her dating life in the years afterwards.

However, in a recent interview with Vogue India, she shared a few thoughts on how it's been going for her so far. She talked out on the steep learning curve that comes with coming to terms with the fact that you are bisexual.

Singh provided a unique insight into how her dating experiences have changed after coming out. She said, “A big part of it was learning how to flirt with girls, which is something I'd never done before. I downloaded dating apps for the first time; I messaged girls for the first time. It was strange because I was used to having girls as friends and now the whole dynamic had changed.”

According to Lilly's hard-core rule, doing girly stuff and dating should never be mixed together. She said, “I don't want to get my nails done with someone I could potentially date. I don't want to get dressed, drink and dance with them the way I do with my female friends. I don't want to do my eyeliner in the mirror with them; it makes me want to die.”

In the beginning, Lilly had a few severe dating app blunder to deal with when she decided to change her sexual preferences. She revealed, “The first time I messaged a girl on a dating app, I called her sis. I literally had to stop and chastise myself and be like “No. Bad.” I'm getting better at it but navigating this new realm of flirting is still a work in progress.”

It seems like she's still figuring out how to flirt with girls!
