Mumbai: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital after he encountered breathing issues on June 6. The actor has been reportedly diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion which is also referred to as ‘water on the lungs’.
Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu shared an update from his Twitter account and assured that he is recuperating. She also said that the doctors assured her that Dilip Kumar will be discharged soon.

Saira Banu said in a statement that read, “Past few days my beloved husband, Yousuf Khan, has been unwell and recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai. Through this note, I want to thank all of you for keeping him in your prayers and for all the love and affection. My husband, my Kohinoor our Dilip Kumar Sahab's health is stable and doctors have assured me that he should be discharged soon. I urge you not to believe in rumours. While I ask you to pray for Sahab's health, I am praying that the almighty keep all of you safe and healthy during this pandemic.”
The latest picture of Dilip Kumar has also been shared on his Twitter. The caption read, “Latest. An hour ago.”
After the legendary actor was admitted to the hospital, rumours of his death started doing rounds. His wife Saira Banu rubbished all the speculations through a Twitter post.
Dilip Kumar was last seen portraying his magic on-screen in the 1998 movie ‘Qila’.
