Did You Know Mouni Roy's Role In 'Brahmastra' Was Supposed To Be A Cameo?
'Brahmastra' has already collected Rs. 450 crores at the box office. As per reports, Ayan has already begun working on the sequel featuring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan.
New Delhi: Did you know that Mouni Roy's much appreciated role in Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' was earlier meant to be a cameo only? Yes, the actress who played the character Junoon in the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer opened up about her role in detail in an interview. In an interaction with IndiaToday, Mouni said that her 10-minute meeting with Ayan Mukerji was over 3.5 hours as he explained the world of 'Brahmastra' to her.
After hearing Ayan talk, Mouni said, "Yes, I want to be a part of this," IndiaToday report quoted her as saying. Mouni Roy also auditioned for the role six months later. She added, "six months later, it turned into a full-fledged, antagonist role. So I couldn't have been happier."
Mouni also shared that she had not expected this kind of reaction for her performance in the film. "I did not anticipate this kind of reaction at all. The kind of love that I've been receiving. I have never received this kind of love in my entire career. So I'm really thankful and grateful to be very honest," the 'Naagin' actress added.

In the first part of 'Brahmastra', Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna, Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia were also present. Around 8-9 astras were introduced in the first part of the film in which Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt played the lead. The first part also introduced a new chapter of astraverse in the adventure-fantasy genre much like the Marvel's Cinematic Universe. The Astraverse is the Indian substitute drawn from Indian mythology and modern film on superheroes and fantasy, many from the Marvel franchise itself.
