New Delhi: Vijay Varma, known for his roles in films like 'Gully Boy' and ‘Dahaad’, recently opened up about his relationship with actress Tamannaah Bhatia. Speculation had been rife about whether their relationship was merely a publicity stunt to promote their appearance together in the Netflix anthology 'Lust Stories 2'. However, Vijay put those rumors to rest by expressing his genuine love for Tamannaah.
In an interview with GQ India, Vijay confirmed their relationship, stating, "I think it's fairly understood now that we are dating each other."
"I am happy and madly in love with her. I call this my 'I've ended my villain era and gotten into the romance era' phase of life,” he told GQ.
Tamannaah, too, had previously spoken about her connection with Vijay during an interview with Film Companion. She emphasized that attraction and feelings are personal and unrelated to someone's profession. She described Vijay as someone she looks up to, with whom she bonded organically. Tamannaah expressed deep care for him, referring to him as her "happy place."
“He is someone I really look up to. He is someone with whom I bonded very very organically. He is someone who came to me with all his guard down. Then, it became very easy for me to put all my guard down,” she had told Film Companion.
The couple first met on the sets of 'Lust Stories 2' where they portrayed estranged lovers in Sujoy Ghosh's segment titled 'Sex With Ex.' Their on-screen chemistry led to off-screen speculation, which intensified when a video of them kissing during a Goa trip surfaced online. Since then, they have been spotted together in Mumbai many times.
'Lust Stories 2' is an anthology comprising four stories directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sen Sharma, R Balki, and Sujoy Ghosh. Alongside Vijay and Tamannaah, the cast included prominent actors like Kajol, Mrunal Thakur, Angad Bedi, Tillotama Shome, Amruta Subhash, and Neena Gupta. The anthology explores various aspects of modern relationships, with Vijay and Tamannaah's segment delving into the complexities of a past romantic connection.
