Sunny Deol Talks About Gadar 2 Success, Says 'We Need Some Hits To Keep The Film Industry On Its Feet'

After just two days in theatres, Sunny Deol is happy with the positive response 'Gadar 2' is getting.

New Delhi: Sunny Deol has expressed amazement at the reception he and ‘Gadar 2’ have received, saying that the film's characters have won over both young and old fans. ‘Gadar 2’ had a massive opening and is now the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. The film opened to rave reviews and made Rs 40.10 crore on its first day in theatres. In a recent interview, Sunny Deol thanked his supporters for making ‘Gadar 2’ a success. 

Sunny Deol spoke with Times Now on the film's reception and its overwhelming success, saying, “I am indeed very happy. When we did the second part of Gadar, we never knew it would be so loved by the audience. Two whole generations have gone by since we did the first Gadar. And still, people are as excited as they were the first time. I am amazed and very very happy. We need some hits to keep the film industry on its feet.” 

The actor was also asked about the secret of his longevity, and he replied that he tries not to dwell on his age. Sunny said, “I don't know! I don't think about how old I am. I've never done that. I've always done my work to the best of my abilities regardless of my age."

On Sunday, Dharmendra also thanked his Twitter fans for their love on Sunny Deol's ‘Gadar 2’. He wrote, “Love you all for your loving response …Gadar."

Directed by Anil Sharma, ‘Gadar 2’ is a continuation of his 2001 movie ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. Sunny Deol reprises his role as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel returns as Sakina, and Utkarsh Sharma returns as Charanjeet.
