Shreya Ghoshal Postpones Kolkata Concert In Light Of RG Kar Rape-Murder Incident; Says 'Imperative For Me To Take A Stand'
In light of the recent RG Kar rape and murder incident that shook the country, acclaimed singer Shreya Ghoshal has decided to postpone the dates of her Kolkata concert to October 2024.
New Delhi: Singer Shreya Ghoshal had a concert scheduled in Kolkata in the month of September. However, in light of the recent RG Kar rape and murder incident that shook the country, the acclaimed singer has decided to postpone the dates of her said concert.

Taking to her official Twitter handle, Ghoshal shared a note from her All Hearts Tour that said, "I am deeply affected by the gruesome and heinous incident that recently took place in Kolkata. Being a woman myself, the very thought of the sheer brutality that she must have gone through is unthinkable and sends shivers down my spine."
She and her promoters of the concert tour have desired to reschedule her concert from Sep 14, 2024 to a new date in October 2024. Ghoshal did not share the changed date in her post.
"This concert was highly anticipated by all of us but it is absolutely imperative for me to take a stand and join you all in solidaroty. I sincerely pray for the respect and safety of the women in this world, not just our country."
Adding that we should all stand together, Shreya signed off by saying, "I request you to bear with us while we announce a new date. Your current tickets will remain valid for the new date."

In the last few weeks since the incident, several celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan, Randeep Hooda, Kangana Ranaut and other celebs expressed 'horror' over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College & Hospital.
