Veteran actor and MP Shatrughan Sinha, 77, has been discharged from the hospital a few days after being admitted.

Veteran actor and MP Shatrughan Sinha, 77, has been discharged from the hospital a few days after being admitted. In an interview with Times Now, he clarified that he went to the hospital for a routine health check-up, dispelling any circulating rumours.

Shatrughan Sinha on being hospitalised

Regarding his hospital visit, Shatrughan Sinha said, "(It was) just my annual routine full-body check-up. I recommend it for everyone over 60. I've been traveling for my election campaign non-stop for three months. Then right after, my daughter got married. I am no longer that hot-blooded, energy-driven young man who could do three shifts a day and still have the energy to party all night. I need to slow down."

Addressing rumors of surgery, he added, "I even read that I had a minor surgery in the hospital. Surgery ko… Khamosh! Arey bhai, mujhe surgery hui aur mujhe khud ko nahi maloom? (I underwent surgery and even I don't know about it?)." Shatrughan also mentioned that the Mumbai entertainment media is so 'starved' for news that they would publish anything.

Shatrughan Sinha attends Sonakshi Sinha's wedding

Recently, Shatrughan Sinha contested and won the Lok Sabha Elections from the Asansol constituency in West Bengal under the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Party. He then attended his daughter Sonakshi Sinha's wedding to fellow actor Zaheer Iqbal, accompanied by his wife Poonam Sinha and son Kussh Sinha. His other son, Luv Sinha, was notably absent.

After a period of silence, Luv explained on X (formerly Twitter), “The reasons are very clear as to why I didn’t attend, and I would not associate with some people no matter what." He also shared a report by The Telegraph mentioning suspicious activities by Zaheer's father, Iqbal Ratansi. However, Luv later clarified, “The quote that is being incorrectly attributed to me is not my statement and was written in an article by a senior journalist. The matter is now closed, and I will not be commenting on it any further.”

Shatrughan, who attended Sonakshi's wedding with joy, stated that she and Zaheer are “made for each other.” He added that he is happy because Sonakshi is happy and has no response to those who disapprove of her marriage to Zaheer.
