Radhika Apte Trolled For Drinking Champagne While Pumping Breastmilk At BAFTA Awards
Actress Radhika Apte's BAFTA celebration was marred by controversy when she shared a picture of herself pumping breastmilk while holding a glass of champagne.

New Delhi: Radhika Apte, who has starred in blockbuster hits like 'Andhadhun', 'Parched' and 'Manjhi', became a mother in December 2024 after welcoming a daughter with husband Benedict Taylor. Despite keeping private about her new baby, the actress recently posted something about parenthood that went viral.
Radhika swiftly got back to work after giving birth, and she even made an appearance at the esteemed BAFTA Awards, where her film ‘Sister Midnight’ had been nominated. While at the event, she gave her fans a glimpse behind the scenes and provided breathtaking photos. One of the photos shows Radhika pumping breastmilk with one hand and clutching a champagne glass with the other.
"And now my BAFTAs reality (laughing face emoji). I have to thank Natasha @tashtash07 for making it possible for me to attend the BAFTAs. She scheduled the itinerary around my breast-pumping timings. She not only accompanied me to the washroom to express milk but, more importantly, brought me champagne in the loo," Radhika said with a touch of humour in her post.

A number of admirers lauded the actress for making parenthood a normal experience, while others criticised her for drinking champagne while pumping breastmilk. A number of users voiced their concern about the safety of nursing while drinking alcohol.
A user said, "Are you kidding…you cannot have alcohol and breastfeed at the same time." To which another one said, "It is sad that you are drinking while breastfeeding."
A commenter warned that Radhika was giving a wrong message by stating, "Hey, this is a very wrong message you are sending to others. It's not only when you are pumping; when you are breastfeeding mom, you should leave alcohol and related things. And by chance, if you want to drink anytime, which is not suggested, you should not breastfeed till 24 hours. Please at least think about the baby. The doctor also advised the same."
