Kareena Kapoor Opens Up On Her Infamous Catfight With Priyanka Chopra: 'Maybe We All Had That Energy'

Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor shared the screen for the first time in the 2004 film 'Aitraaz', which starred Akshay Kumar.

New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor shared the screen for the first time in the 2004 film 'Aitraaz', which starred Akshay Kumar. Following the release, allegations of their catfight started to circulate, and it was claimed that it intensified while they were performing together in Antwerp, Belgium. Kareena, who also appeared with Priyanka on a 2019 Koffee With Karan (KWK) episode, has now addressed the question of whether or not she and Priyanka had a "huge fight" that "almost came to blows" in an interview with Mid-Day.

When questioned about the rumoured catfight she allegedly had with Priyanka Chopra in Antwerp, Kareena responded, "No, no, no, all rubbish. I was like, ‘What is going on?’ But I think maybe we all had that energy – you know, some sort of thing, where we were all wanting to prove ourselves.”

Kareena talked openly about the catfights that were publicised in the 1990s and early 2000s when asked about the competitive atmosphere of the profession, where the media frequently pitted actors against one another.

The 'Jaane Jaan' actress said, "Oh God! The ’90s were full of it (catfights), the ’90s started, and in 2000, everyone was having a catfight. Kuch bhi bol do (You say anything) and catfight. Today, I mean, you don’t even hear those things, you know. Who knows? It must be happening as a thought, but things are a little different and more chilled out (now)."

In addition, Kareena discussed her opinions on her twenties, saying that she felt that she was "constantly just rushing" and eager "to just prove herself." The actress claimed she aspired to "be the best."

Kareena And Priyanka On Koffee With Karan

Kareena was seen making fun of Priyanka Chopra's accent in a third-season episode of the show. Kareena had responded, "I wonder where Priyanka got her accent from," when host Karan Johar asked what she would like to ask Priyanka.

Kareena's comment on Priyanka's accent was addressed by her in a different Koffee With Karan season 3 episode. Priyanka had responded to Kareena's 'question' by saying, "I think it's the same place that her boyfriend (now husband Saif Ali Khan) gets it from." Priyanka and Kareena later participated together in season 6 of Koffee With Karan, putting a stop to their previous "tiff."
