Jaya Bachchan Says Daughter Shweta Is Her Strength 'More Than' Her Son & Actor Abhishek Bachchan

New Delhi: Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan is making headlines once agaiin, this time after the release of her granddaughter’s season of ‘What The Hell Navya’ vodcast. In the opening episode of the same, Jaya Bachchan called daughter Shweta Bachchan her strength  "more than" her son Abhishek Bachchan. 

The pair made an appearance on the opening episode of Navya Nanda's second season of What The Hell Navya. On Thursday, Navya posted a video on her YouTube page called "Who Makes the World Go Round." Shweta, Jaya Bachchan, and Navya were all featured in the vodcast. 

"Why didn't you give so many opinions today?" Navya questioned Shweta Bachchan near the end of the program. In response, she said, “Because a lot of the topics you were talking about, I was uneducated on. I didn't want to open my mouth and sound like an idiot,” to which Navya said, “You are not sounding like one. You're very smart. And your opinion is very valued."

As she smiled and listened to Navya and Shweta's chat, Jaya Bachchan reached out to her daughter and said, “She is my strength," to which Shweta said, "Thanks mother". Jaya Bacchan continued, "She is, more than my son, she's my strength. I don't know whether that's because she's a woman. But she's my strength."  

At this gesture, both Navya and Shweta called her ‘sweet’.

Shweta is the child of famous actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bahaduri.  Actors Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan were married on June 3, 1973. Abhishek Bachchan, an actor, is another child of the pair. 

Shweta Bachchan is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda. Their two kids are named Agastya Nanda and Navya. 

Actress Aishwarya Rai is the spouse of Abhishek Bachchan. Aaradhya Bachchan, their daughter, is their child.

In an interview with Times Now last year, Abhishek discussed his mother, Jaya Bachchan. He had stated, “Contrary to public opinion about my mother, she's not strict. She's the one I would go running to as a kid. She's particular. And no, I've not seen her videos with the paps. That word, 'Maa' capsulates pure love. When my father would be busy with his shooting, he would hardly get time to spend with us. The person who never allowed me and my sister to feel that void, it was my mother. And that can be only done through love. I think parents are the perfect balance of both."
