Ira Khan-Nupur Shikhare Wedding: Aamir Khan Made Sure To Follow Groom's Maharashtrian Culture
Actor Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan got married to Nupur Shikhare on January 3. The couple signed the marriage registration document in the presence of friends and family in Mumbai.
New Delhi: Actor Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan got married to Nupur Shikhare on January 3. The couple signed the marriage registration document in the presence of friends and family in Mumbai and are all set to have a traditional Maharashtrian wedding in Udaipur on January 8.
The pre-wedding festivities started in Mumbai with mehendi and haldi and the actor made sure all the traditions and rituals were celebrated in Maharashtrian tradition. The actor made sure that the women of his family wore Nauvari sarees, following the Shikhare family’s traditions. 
A picture of the ceremony is doing the rounds on the internet where Aamir is seen posing with Nisha, Gauri, Reena Dutta, Nikhat (sister), Laxmi, Leena and Farhat (sister).
Aamir reached Udaipur on Friday along with his son Azad. Nupur and Ira left for Udaipur early in the morning on Friday. The wedding festivities will take place from January 8 to 10 attended by family and relatives.
Nupur has posted pictures from Udaipur where the couple and their friends are seen working out. She wrote in the caption, "Can it be our wedding without a bunch of workouts? @nupur_popeye

The couple will then head to Mumbai and host a reception at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on January 13. The who’s who of Bollywood including superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are expected to attend the reception.
Nupur Shikhare proposed to Ira in 2022 and is the official fitness trainer of Ira and Aamir. The pre-wedding festivities started with a Haldi ceremony on Tuesday. The couple made it official on January 3. They signed the marriage registration document in the presence of friends and family at the Taj Lands End in the Bandra area of Mumbai.
For the wedding, Nupur ditched the traditional choice of a horse and jogged to the wedding venue from Santacruz to the Bandra area in Mumbai. He registered the marriage wearing a vest and shorts.
Ira also shared the first picture of her with her hubby after they became husband and wife.
