Ileana D'Cruz speaks about the reality of postpartum depression and how unprepared one might be for it.
New Delhi: The revelation of Ileana D'Cruz's pregnancy last year delighted all of her admirers. Since then, she has been capturing every step of her pregnancy, from the baby shower to the mood swings and posting images of her growing belly. Now, the actress has been enjoying her new role as a mother while away from the silver screen. Ileana D'Cruz recently discussed her experience with postpartum depression in an interview. She went on to talk about her partner Michael Dolan.
ETime interviewed Ileana D'Cruz, in which she spoke up on the reality of postpartum depression and how unprepared one might be for it.
She shared, "Postpartum depression is very real, and nothing can prepare you for it. I am glad that I had a good support system at home and a team of doctors who took good care of me. Topics like mom guilt are so real. I remember I was in my room, and I started crying. My partner asked me what was wrong and I told him, 'I know it sounds really stupid, but my son is sleeping in the other room, and I am missing him'. So, there are these intense emotions you go through after having a baby."
Ileana called partner Michael "absolutely lovely" and said he's a "big support." Praising him, she said, I am thankful that Mike (Michael Dolan) is such an amazing partner. I don’t need to explain things to him.”
For those who were unaware, even after Ileana announced her pregnancy to the public, she stayed quiet about her connection with Michael Dolan. The only way the diva's followers learn about her private life is via glimpses on social media; she has never spoken publicly about her marriage.
When asked about the rumours surrounding her marriage and relationships, Ileana said, "There’s so much speculation. Let’s just leave it at that. It is nice to have a tiny bit of mystery."
