Govinda's Wife Sunita Gives The Actor's Health Update: 'Don't Panic. He Will Start Dancing In A Few Months'

Actor Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja on Wednesday gave update of the actor’s  health and said that he is doing fine and will be shifted to a regular ward.

Actor Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja on Wednesday gave update of the actor’s  health and said that he is doing fine and will be shifted to a regular ward. This update comes a day after the 60-year-old actor suffered a leg injury when his pistol accidentally went off. 

Govinda, known for his iconic roles in films like 'Love 86', 'Swarg', 'Dulhe Raja', and 'Partner', underwent surgery on Tuesday and is currently recovering in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a private hospital. 

What Sunita said about Govinda's health

Speaking to reporters, Sunita expressed gratitude to Govinda’s fans for their support and reassured them that the actor is doing well. 

"Govinda sir is fine today. He will be moved to the normal ward today. He will be discharged tomorrow or day after. With everyone's blessings, he has recovered. So many people are praying for him, he has such a massive fan following. I'd like to tell fans please don't panic. He will start dancing in a few months," she said.

Mumbai crime branch also investigates the accident

The incident occurred at Govinda's Mumbai residence on Tuesday when the actor was preparing to leave for the airport. His revolver accidentally went off, injuring him in the leg. Sunita, who was in Jaipur at the time, rushed back to Mumbai upon hearing the news. 

According to PTI, the Mumbai crime branch visited the actor to investigate the incident. While the local police are already conducting their own inquiry, the crime branch has launched a parallel investigation. As of now, no formal complaints have been filed regarding the incident. 

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, who treated the actor, told PTI that the bullet struck just below Govinda's left knee, and the actor received 8-10 stitches following the surgery.

Govinda, beloved for his exceptional comedic timing and dance moves, later released a statement to update his fans about his condition. 

He said, “Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam (I am Govinda. Your blessings, the blessings of my parents, and the grace of my guru have helped me. I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctors here and everyone for their prayers. Thank you all)."
