Gaurav Kapoor Roasts Ranveer Allahbadia's 'Quick Apology', Compares It to Honey Singh’s Denial Of Controversial Tracks

Comedian Gaurav Kapoor has shared humorous take on the India's Got Latent controversy and Ranveer Allahbadia's apology during his recent stand-up performance.

As Ranveer Allahbadia faces backlash from his controversial comments on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, the situation has sparked mixed reactions across the comedy community. Comedian Gaurav Kapoor is one of the latest to speak out, sharing a humorous take on the controversy during his recent stand-up performance.

What Gaurav Kapoor said about Ranveer Allahbadia

According to Kapoor, the situation has been blown out of proportion. "Arre bhai kya bhasad hogai yaar. Itni badi bhasad toh hai bhi nahi yaar. Ho gaya yaar, nikal gaya mooh se yaar," he joked, referring to the uproar over the incident. He added, "It's become such a big mess when it isn't even that big. It's fine, they messed up."

Kapoor also addressed Allahbadia’s swift apology, suggesting that the influencer might have acted too hastily. “Mujhe gire pe laat marna accha nahi lagta par ek baar maar dete hain. Waise Ranveer jo bhai hain, 12 baje controversy hui, 2 baje apology dedi. 2 ghante mein? Itnijaldi toh main apne papa ko sorry nhi bolta,” he quipped. ("I don’t like to kick someone who’s already down, but let's do it this once. Ranveer apologised just two hours after the controversy came to light. I don’t apologise to my dad so quickly.")

He went on to joke that Allahbadia could have used some legal counsel before reacting. “Abe rukja bhootni ke, lawyer ko dede thoda paisa. Baat karle lawyer se, samajh le kya bolna hai," Kapoor added, advising Allahbadia to have consulted a lawyer before issuing his public apology. Kapoor joked that Allahbadia’s rush to "own up" to the controversy may have made matters worse.

Gaurav Kapoor gives Honey Singh's reference

Kapoor also attributed Allahbadia’s need to apologise to his Mumbai roots, stating that someone from Delhi might have reacted differently and refused to apologise altogether. He pointed to Honey Singh as an example, referencing the rapper’s controversial songs Vol 1 and Vol 2, which Singh has consistently denied singing.

Kapoor quipped, “Honey Singh Delhi sey hai, sabko pata hai wo gaana kisne gaaya hai. Ek baar bhi nahi maana. Jab poocho kehta hai maine gaaya hi nahi hai. Abhi interview mein poocha aapki hi aawaz hai to kaha main aapki aawaz mein bana deta hu. (Honey Singh is from Delhi, and everyone knows who actually sang those songs. He’s never once admitted to it)."

India's Got Latent controversy

The drama began when Allahbadia made remarks on India’s Got Latent, an episode featuring Samay Raina and other panelists, which was later deleted. The comments ignited a massive backlash, with Raina subsequently removing all related videos. Allahbadia and his family reportedly began receiving death threats in response to the fallout.

As a result, FIRs have been filed against Allahbadia and others involved in Maharashtra and Assam. The controversy has continued to dominate headlines, with police complaints lodged against them in both Mumbai and Guwahati.
