New Delhi: Elvish Yadav appeared to respond to the latest controversy involving Munawar Faruqui. For those who don't know, Munawar was arrested following a Mumbai hookah bar search. After being questioned by the police, he and the other thirteen people were eventually let go. A few hours after the raid became public, Elvish made fun of 'Bigg Boss 17' winner Munawar in a cryptic post on X. He enquired as to whether winning the Salman Khan-hosted show causes life to take a bad turn.

“Biggboss Jeetne Ke Baad Sabka Bura Time Shuru Hojaata Hai Kya,” Elvish Yadav wrote.

Elvish, incidentally, won a Bigg Boss spin-off programme as well. He was the winner of Bigg Boss OTT's second season. Unfortunately, once he was arrested earlier this month and named in a snake venom case, his life also took a sharp turn.

Munawar Faruqui Hookah Bar Controversy

Munawar was one of the numerous people arrested during the operation, according to an ANI report on Wednesday morning. ‘A complaint has been filed against Big Boss 17 champion Munawar Faruqui and 13 other individuals following their detention during a raid on a hookah establishment in the Fort area last night. Following interrogation, Mumbai Police freed all of the accused’, according to the news agency.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Mumbai police's Social Service division raided a hookah parlour in the Fort neighborhood's Bora Bazar.

"During the raid, the police found stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui and others smoking hookahs at the joint. We also have a video of their act. We detained Faruqui and others, but they were later allowed to go as the sections slapped against them were bailable," a senior official told PTI.

“Police had received information that some patrons were smoking tobacco-based hookahs at the parlour in the guise of smoking herbal hookahs,” he added.

In addition to being charged under IPC sections 283 and 336, which deal with obstructing public places and risking public safety, Faruqui and thirteen other individuals were also booked under relevant parts of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act.
