ED Summons Jacqueline Fernandez In Connection To Money Laundering Case

On Wednesday, July 10, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) once again summoned Jacqueline Fernandez.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again summoned Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez. In relation to the continuing money laundering investigation involving suspected con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar, she is expected to be interrogated later this afternoon, Wednesday, July 10. According to an ED source, the agency has summoned Fernandez to check new, significant information.

It was said that Jacqueline was in a relationship with Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is imprisoned in Delhi's Mandoli jail on an extortion charge of Rs 200 crore. The actress has been interrogated several times by the ED, despite her repeated denials of any intimate relationship with Sukesh.

The claim against Jacqueline Fernandez is that he benefited from the crime that reportedly included Chandrashekhar extorting Rs 200 crore from Aditi Singh, who is married to Shivinder Singh, a former founder of Fortis Healthcare.

Chandrasekhar and his associates reportedly extorted money from Aditi by posing as government officials, promising to secure bail for her husband, who is in Rohini jail. Sukesh allegedly persuaded Aditi to transfer funds by impersonating a central government official over a spoof call, assuring her that he could manage bail for her husband.

Jacqueline Fernandez's lawyer, Aman Nandrajog, declined to comment, as reported by Indian Express.

In February, Jacqueline Fernandez filed a lawsuit against Sukesh, accusing him of harassing her and using media to smear her reputation. But her appeal was subsequently withdrawn. The Enforcement Directorate has argued in the Delhi High Court that Jacqueline knew she was using and possessing Sukesh's illicitly obtained money.

Jacqueline Fernandez is being interrogated and examined more closely by the ED in relation to this high-profile case of money laundering as the inquiry progresses.

Sukesh Chandrasekhar's "Love Letter" to Jacqueline Fernandez

In June, Sukesh Chandrasekhar penned a "love letter" to actress Jacqueline Fernandez. In his heartfelt note, Sukesh wrote,  "My Baby Girl, Jacqueline Baby, firstly, I have been missing you like crazy. Falling in love with you is crazier. Baby, you stole the show at Cannes. Your look in gold was jazzy and super classy, too pretty to handle, my love. Through your other photoshoot pictures, you stole my heart over again, my cupcake. Baby, I have a surprise gift for you today. I am gifting you a star named after you. Baby, you are now on the list of those few special people who have a real star named after them. Baby, you deserve this as you are the real star, my star."

This letter was sent amidst Sukesh's continuing legal issues. He is facing charges brought by the Enforcement Directorate after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) on him.
