Diljit Dosanjh Says He Once Ran Away From Home When He Was 7: 'School Mein Ek Ladki Thi...'

Singer Diljit Dosanjh disclosed in a recent podcast that he left his home at the age of 7 after telling a girl that he would marry her one day.

Singer Diljit Dosanjh, who has always been tight-lipped about his personal life, said that he once tried to run away from home at the young age of 7. The Punjabi singer-actor disclosed in a recent podcast that he left his home after telling a girl that he would marry her one day.

In an interview on Raj Shamani's Figuring Out podcast, Diljit spoke about the time he thought that the world was ending. Speaking of the incident, the singer said, “School mein ek ladki thi, uske liye bhangne ki koshish nahi ki thi. Hamare jo school ke bade ladke the woh puch rahe the tereko konsi ladki pasand hai. Toh maine bola, ‘mereko ye ladki pasand hai’. Wo bola fir tu usko bol ki teri shaadi aur usse hogi. Maine ladki ko aise hi jaake bol diya ki tumhari meri shaadi hogi, toh usne madam ko bata diya. Madam boli kal apne mummy daddy ko lele aa (There was a girl in school, and I didn’t actually try to run away for her. The older boys at our school were asking me which girl I liked. So I said, ‘I like this girl.’ They told me to go and tell her that you two will get married. I went up to the girl and casually said that we are going to get married, and she told the teacher. The teacher said, ‘Bring your parents tomorrow’)”.

“Mereko laga ki ab duniya khatam, ab tu gaya. Ab life yahan pe khatam ho gayi. Maine fridge kholi, do kele nikale. Fruit nikala fridge se. Cycle li, chala gaya. Pehli baar goan jahan pe end ho jata tha uske aage gaya, 5 minutes main dur gaya. Mere kisi gaon ke bande ne kahan, ‘chal mudh ja yahan se’. Usko laga pata nahi kahan ja raha hai. Pata nahi kya aaya hoga uske dimaag mein toh main wapas mud gaya ghar. Wo ek mere ko yaad hai maine bhagne ki koshish ki thi (I felt like the world was ending, and I was done for. At that point, it felt like life was over. I opened the fridge, took out two bananas, and grabbed some fruit. I took my bicycle and left. For the first time, I went beyond the end of our village and rode for about 5 minutes. One of the villagers said to me, ‘Turn around and go back.’ He probably wondered where I was going. Whatever came to his mind, I turned back and went home. I remember that one time I tried to run away)," he added.

Diljit Dosanjh's first love

Recently, Diljit Dosanjh’s photos with his alleged ‘wife’ went viral on social media. Later, it was clarified that the pictures were of his co-star, Oshin Brar. In the same interview, he spoke about his ‘first love’.

Diljit said, “I love myself bro. I love myself like crazy, main apne aap nu bahut pyaar karda. Toh mujhe lagta hai pehla pyaar toh main hi hoon mera. Mera pehla pyaar main hi hoon (I love myself a lot. I think I am my first love)."
