'There's Imbalance In A Power Couple...': Deepika Padukone Talks About Seeking Higher Pay When Collaborating With Ranveer Singh

Deepika revealed her pay and revealed why she and Ranveer charge a "premium" when working on a film together.

New Delhi: Fans adore Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as one of the Bollywood couples, both on and off-screen. In a recent interview, Deepika was asked about what it's like to be dubbed as the foremost power couple. In her interview with The Week, Deepika revealed her pay and revealed why she and Ranveer charge a "premium" when working on a film together.

She noted that, unlike other celebrity couples, they have an identical split of power between them. In the interview, the actor was asked if she 'commands a separate rate for ads or films', when working with Ranveer Singh in comparison to what they charge when they work separately.

"Yes, we do charge a premium for when we come together. I think we are positioned quite uniquely. In that, there's usually an imbalance in a power couple, but not with us. Plus, both of us have started from scratch and it's something we are very proud of. To achieve success on merit and on one's own terms makes us special," Deepika told the magazine.

According to the magazine, Deepika reportedly charges between Rs 12 and Rs 15 crore for every film, despite the fact that very few female actors have earned more than Rs 10 crore.

In 2018, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married in Italy. Following 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela', Ranveer and Deepika featured in Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Padmaavat' as well as and Priyanka Chopra's film 'Bajirao Mastani'. Deepika Padukone was last seen in a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan'.

Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Deepika Padukone, Ridhi Dogra, and Sanjay Dutt are among the other actors who feature in 'Jawan'. The movie was released on September 7.
