Rimi Sen Files Lawsuit Against Land Rover Over Faulty Car; Asks Rs. 50 Cr Compensation
Actor Rimi Sen has filed a lawsuit against luxury car manufacturer Land Rover, seeking Rs. 50 cr due to alleged defects and subsequent mental harassment related to her vehicle.
New Delhi: Actor Rimi Sen has filed a lawsuit against luxury car manufacturer Land Rover, seeking Rs. 50 cr due to alleged defects and subsequent mental harassment related to her vehicle. She said she has been facing issues with the sunroof, sound system, and rear-end camera.
About the car
Rimi shared that she purchased the car in 2020 for Rs. 92 lakh, but has since faced numerous issues, causing her to bring this to the company's management as a case of negligence and emotional distress. Sen claimed that the car's defects and the company's way of handling the repairs has caused her enough trouble, also leading to mental duress and thus prompting her to take legal action.
As per an NDTV report, the vehicle was pruchased from Satish Motors Pvt. Ltd. an authorised dealer for Jaguar Land Rover, with a warranty valid until January 2023. During COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic, the car was not used much.

The complaint also shared that when Rimi began using the vehicle, she faced numerous defects, from noisy sunroof, screen lags, faulty sound system and a problem with the rear-end camera.
In her complaint, Rimi also claimed that on August 25, 2022, the malfunctioning rear-end camera led to the car's collision with a pillar. Sharing that the dealers are dismissive about the issues, she said that it was her who had to get the repairs done.
Rimi Sen's demands
Rimi Sen also shared that the car is apparently defective in both manufacturing and maintainence by the authorised dealer. Now, Rimi is demanding compensation of Rs, 50 cr for the mental harrassment endured, as well as an additional Rs. 10 lakh to cover legal expenses.
She also seeks a replacement of the defective car.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rimi sen is known for her work in Bengali films.
