Ali Fazal Congratulates Wife Richa Chadha For Heeramandi: 'Only A Fool Would Not Take Lajjo & Fly Away...'

Recently, actor Ali Fazal took to his official Instagram handle to congratulate his wife Richa Chadha for her performance in 'Heeramandi'.

New Delhi: 'Heeramandi' has become a successful Netflix show. The period-drama by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has become the topic of never ending discussion ever since its release on the OTT giant on May 1, 2024. Despite mixed reviews about the series, many have lauded the grandeur, scale and some performances by its lead actors. Recently, actor Ali Fazal took to his official Instagram handle to congratulate his wife Richa Chadha for her performance in 'Heeramandi'.

Ali Fazal praises Richa Chadha

Ali praised his wife and actor Richa Chadha's acting chops. Chadha plays the role of Lajwanti(Lajjo) in the courtesan drama series. Fazal also shared a reel consisting of pictures and video clips from their vacay time together, some clips from the wedding, some social gatherings and events. 

Ali Fazal captioned the post, "Only a fool would not take Lajjo and fly away !! ( Lajjo check) You are simply the best and i feel so lucky i get to share my notes with you in person .. congratulations partner on this mad success of #heeramandi . You’ve risen way way way above the norm you always do. See you soon! @therichachadha !!"

Soon after, Richa replied to Fazal's post and wrote, "Am lucky ❤️ luckiest girl alive ❤️ thank you."

Saba Pataudi also commented on Fazal's post and wrote, "He's SO right!! 👏❤️YOU Nailed it beautifully.FAB 👌 And more power to U!! Btw @alifazal9 I love the coat :))"

A user also commented on Ali Fazal's post and wrote, "@therichachadha the heera performance of heermandi you were sooooooo good can’t wait for you to share notes on how you cracked it . Keep inspiring (heart emoji).”

'Heeramandi' is a fictional recreation of the lives of the leading courtesans of a red-light district in Lahore, called Heeramandi. Set during the Indian independence movement in the 1920s-40s, the series showcases some of the power struggles between the courtesans, Nawabs and the British officials who were powerful and incharge of Lahore during the colonial era.
