Nora Fatehi says that she saw "so many similarities" between herself and Helen that it was easy to empathise with her character.
New Delhi: Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi recently wowed the audience at IIFA 2023 with a 10-minute homage to the legendary Helen. The audience was mesmerised as Nora transported them back in time to the age of Helen. Nora danced to the renowned actress's great hits, such as ‘Piya Tu’, ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ and and 'Laila Main Laila'. In a recent interview, she said it would be an "honour" to portray Helen in a biopic. She claimed to have watched every film of Helen carefully, learning everything about her aura and hand motions.
Nora Fatehi discussed the possibility of playing Helen in a biography. She said, "Ofcourse that would be an honour! I mean if the filmmakers ever think of me, because I feel like we have so many similarities. She came from a different country, I did, it was tough for both of us, we were introduced to the world through dance and that too in a different genre of dance. We changed what dance meant in cinema.”
Nora responded to a question about how she did it so effortlessly by saying, "I really studied all her videos properly, even the breathing spaces of the shoulder movements, the hands and just the aura! I had to be feminine, I had to be poised, I had to be very flirty and I had to own it!"
The actress went on to say that she saw "so many similarities" between herself and Helen that it was easy to empathise with her character.
Nora said, "If anyone would need to embody that and really show what that emotion is, I think I would really be able to connect with it."
Nora has made no secret of her admiration for Helen and has mentioned her several times in interviews.
