New Delhi: 'Mirzapur' fans, brace yourself. The third season of the popular crime series on Amazon Prime Video has begun filming. Ali Fazal urf Guddu Pandit announced that he is soon beginning shoot for 'Mirzapur Season 3'. The actor took to his official Instagram handle to share the news that got fans super excited.

Ali Fazal shared a picture of himself on Thursday on Instagram and captioned it, "And the time begins!! Prep, rehearsals, readings. Bring it on. Laathi lakkad nahi, ab neeche se joote aur upar se bandookein fire hongi. Lagao haath kamaao kantaap! Guddu aa rahe hain .. apne aap. ( No wooden sticks, now shoes from below and guns from above will be fired. Touch and earn slaps. Guddu is returning.. all by himself)

In the monochrome picture, we see Ali sitting on a chair and looking straight into the camera.

As soon as the Mirzapur actor shared the picture on his Instagram handle, his girlfriend Richa Chadha commented with heart and fire emojis. Fellow Mirzapur actress Shweta Tripathi wrote, “Intezaar hai (Waiting)."

Fans also shared their excitement on Ali's Instagram post. Someone posted, "The third season can’t come soon enough."

'Mirzapur Season 3' was announced by Amazon at a recent event in Mumbai where 42 new shows and movie titles were announced. Fans couldn't keep their excitement levels in control even then.

'Mirzapur' is a crime thriller created by Karan Anshuman who wrote the script along with Puneet Krishna & Vineet Krishna.  The story follows the rule of Akhandanand Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi), also known as Kaleen Bhaiya, the mafia don of Mirzapur in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh. The series chronicles the events which follow primarily including power struggles for becoming don of Mirzapur.

Produced by Rithesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment, 'Mirzapur Season 3's release date is yet to be announced.
