Actor Suhasini Maniratnam Appointed Chairman Of Jury To Finalise Kerala State Awards 2020
Till now, Kerala film awards received 80 entries for this year including four children's films and the screening of the films started from Tuesday
Chennai: Actor and director Suhasini Maniratnam was appointed as the chairman of the jury to finalise Kerala state film awards for 2020. The jury is the first to be formed after Kerala government decided to constitute a two-tier screening system due to the increased entries to the film awards.
According to a report in Times of India, Suhasini Maniratnam was appointed as the chairman of the final jury for the state film awards. Suhasini has acted in several movies in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. She debuted in the film Nenjathai Killathe in 1980 which got her Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress and her movie Sindhu Bhairavi got her National Film Award for Best Actress in 1986.

Among others, the primary screening committee consists of chairmen including national-award winning Kannada film director P Sheshadri and Malayalam director Bhadran. Both the members will be present in the final award committee as well. The other members in the final committee include cinematographer CK Muraleedharan, sound engineer M Harikumar, film critic N Sasidharsn and music director Mohan Sithara.
The preliminary members include critic EP Rajagopalan, national-award winning editor Suresh Pai, lyricist Madhu Vasudevan, cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, lyricist Shibu Chakravarthi and writer Rekha Raj. There are totally eight members in the primary jury and seven members in the final jury.
Till now, Kerala film awards received 80 entries for this year including four children's films and the screening of the films started from Tuesday. The result of the award ceremony will be declared in the second week of October.
