Actor Siddhanth Kapoor Gets Bail After Arrest For Drug Use At Rave Party In Bengaluru Hotel

Actor Siddhanth Kapoor and four others who were released on bail will have to further appear before the Police as and when called, informed Bheema Shankar Gulled, DCP East Bengaluru

New Delhi: Siddhant Kapoor, son of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor and brother of actress Shraddha Kapoor has now been released on station bail after his arrest on Monday when medical reports confirmed his consumption of drugs, reported news agency ANI. The police have also released the other four people detained with him. All the accused including Actor Siddhanth Kapoor will have to appear before the Police as and when called, informed Bheema Shankar Gulled, DCP East Bengaluru.

Kapoor had been detained by Bengaluru Police Monday for allegedly consuming drugs at a party in the city on Sunday night. Revealing that Kapoor's medical reports confirm drug consumption, Bengaluru City Police's Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Bheemashankar S Guled said, "Siddhanth Kapoor's medical shows he had consumed drugs. We have already arrested him and are following the procedure. We will be sending him to judicial custody."

The police had raided a hotel on MG Road based on a tip-off on Sunday night where a party was hosted. "Last night we got info that a party is going on and they have consumed drugs. We raided and detained 35 people. We didn't find any drugs on their person but found MDMA and ganja disposed of nearby. We will investigate CCTV to check who disposed of it," added DCP Guled.

The police have sent the samples of people suspected of having consumed drugs for medical tests and Siddhanth's sample was among six that turned positive. However, it was not clear whether the accused had consumed drugs at the hotel or had come to the party after taking drugs outside. "Hotel has been given notice, we have asked specific questions, they will have to answer. Bengaluru city police have declared war on drugs and this was part of it. Earlier in the month, we had conducted a raid, where 34 had tested positive for drugs," added DCP East.

In 2020, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had asked Shraddha Kapoor to give a statement as part of their investigation into the possible connection between narcotics and the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput. Her testimony had been recorded by the NCB investigation team in relation to the drug case that was connected to the Bollywood drugs connection and Sushant's case.
