Abhishek Bachchan Opens Up About Dealing With Negativity, Shares Wife Aishwarya Rai's Advice

In a recent interview, Abhishek Bachchan discussed dealing with criticism, admitting he still wants to please everyone.

Abhishek Bachchan has always been known for his dignified presence and thoughtful responses in the often relentless world of showbiz. In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor opened up about dealing with criticism and how the words of his wife, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, help him navigate the negativity that often comes with public life.

Abhishek Bachchan on Wanting to Please Everyone

During the interview, Abhishek was asked about a past statement in which he said he wanted to make everyone happy.

Reflecting on that mindset, he shared: "Yes. Time teaches you that sometimes you can be foolish. Don’t be so idealistic. But I don’t ever want to let go of that. The day I say yaa I can’t make everyone happy, this is me, take it or leave it, for a film actor, it’s very arrogant and it will be the death of you. There will be no more desire to improve. I understand that it’s a lot more challenging than you say it."

Aishwarya Rai’s Advice on Dealing with Negativity

Abhishek also spoke about how criticism impacts him and how he tries to process it.

He admitted,"But I still want to make everyone happy. I still pay attention to all the negative reviews and anybody who says negative things. Sadly, as human nature pays more attention to negativity than positivity."

He then shared the valuable advice Aishwarya often gives him: "And Aishwarya always said, it’s water off a duck’s back. Why are you concentrating on the negative stuff? Concentrate on the positive, that so much outweighs anything else."

Abhishek and Aishwarya’s Relationship

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s love story began as a friendship while working on films like Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003). Their relationship deepened during the shooting of Umrao Jaan in 2005-2006.

Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya after the premiere of Guru in New York, and the couple tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a grand ceremony. Aishwarya Rai became the beloved “Bachchan Bahu,” and the couple welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, a few years later.

Rumours of Marital Strain Continue

In recent times, speculation around trouble in Aishwarya and Abhishek’s marriage has surfaced frequently. Despite ongoing media chatter, the couple has remained tight-lipped and has not issued any official statement addressing the rumours.
