New Delhi: With two rounds of the Uttar Pradesh assembly election remaining, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ballia today to address voters. Campaigning for BJP leaders, PM Modi began his address speaking about casteism and how the state does not seek to be driven by it anymore.
"In the 5 phases of UP polls, people have rejected dynasty politics and have given a message that vehicle of UP is no longer going to get stuck in the streets of caste as it has gained momentum on the highway of development," PM Narendra Modi said in Ballia.

"I have an emotional connect with Ballia as the scheme to provide free gas cylinders Ujjwala was launched from here. The development of UP is my responsibility and priority. Under Yogi's government, a trader in Ballia is no longer afraid of his money being stolen," PM Modi said.

PM Modi had earlier addressed gatherings in Basti, Deoria, and Varanasi on Sunday.
The fifth phase of the ongoing Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh was completed yesterday at 6 p.m. The final two phases will be polled on March 3 and March 7. The ballots will be counted on March 10th.
UP Legislative Assembly Election 2017
Voting for UP Legislative Assembly Election 2017 was held in 7 phases and it witnessed a voter turnout of 61.04%. In what can be termed as the Modi wave, BJP won the UP assembly election 2017 by an overwhelming three-quarter majority, winning 325 seats.
The incumbent SP government lost 177 seats and managed to get only 47 out of the 311 seats it contested in the 2017 UP assembly election. While the Mayawati-led BSP lost further ground in the state with 19 wins out of 403 seats it contested.
Congress had to remain content with 7 assembly seats while BJP's minor alliance partner Apna Dal was able to snatch 9 from the 11 seats it fought on.
