UP Polls | 'People Seeing Lord Krishna In Their Dreams': PM Modi's Fresh Dig At Akhilesh Yadav

"Witnessing the immense support for the BJP, these people are now seeing Lord Krishna in their dreams," PM Modi was quoted by PTI in its report.

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday snubbed the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for his recent claim that he saw Lord Krishna in his dream.

"Witnessing the immense support for the BJP, these people are now seeing Lord Krishna in their dreams," PM Modi was quoted by PTI in its report.

Speaking to voters in Mathura, Agra, and Bulandshahr only days before the first round of the state Assembly elections, Modi stated that the people of Uttar Pradesh have determined that development would be the most important topic in this elections.

In support of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Modi stated that if his administration is re-elected, development activities will be expedited and UP will overcome the issues caused by the coronavirus in the previous two years.

"If Yogiji's government is formed again, the work of giving houses to the poor will be done faster. Had the crisis of coronavirus not come, Yogiji would have done many such works in these two years. But during these two years, the government had to go through difficulties," PM Modi said.

"Power of the government had to be used to save people's lives. Had hurdles not come in the past two years, the way in which Yogiji had started the work since 2017, Uttar Pradesh would have reached some other level," he said.

Modi expressed confidence that the BJP will win a landslide victory, putting Adityanath in favour of ensuring the state is back on track.

He also chastised past Uttar Pradesh regimes, saying, "Those who were in power earlier were not concerned with faith or your needs. Their only agenda was to loot UP."

"The people of UP have bluntly said that no matter how much politics some people do on the basis of money, muscle power, casteism, communalism, they will not get the love of the public," he said.

People's blessings, according to Modi, go to those who serve them by becoming their "Sevak."
