MVA's Seat-Sharing Pact Expected To Get Finalised Today: Congress Leader Nana Patole

Patole mentioned that the meeting in Mumbai would involve Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat (Congress), and VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar.

New Delhi: The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) opposition coalition is set to finalize its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections during a leaders' meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said.

Maharashtra, with 48 Lok Sabha seats, has seen intensive discussions among MVA constituents - Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) under Uddhav Thackeray, and the NCP led by Sharad Pawar - to reach consensus on seat distribution. Prakash Ambedkar of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has also been invited for the seat-sharing talks, reported news agency PTI.

Patole mentioned that the meeting in Mumbai would involve Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat (Congress), and VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar.

He anticipated the finalization of the seat-sharing agreement during the meeting. "There is a meeting of MVA in Mumbai where Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat (Congress) and VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar will hold discussions. It is expected that the seat-sharing may get finalised today," Patole said, as per the PTI report.

Responding to questions about the ruling 'Mahayuti' coalition's seat-sharing plan, Patole said look at the condition of NCP head Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, claiming that they have to demand even 11 seats.

"They are in a bad state after joining hands with the BJP due to compulsions," he further claimed.

Patole also criticized Union minister Amit Shah for targeting the Congress over dynastic politics, questioning the credibility of his remarks given his son's prominent position in a cricket body, the PTI report added.

"Rahul Gandhi's family members had served the country as prime ministers. He does not sit at home, but he goes to the people to understand their issues. What have they (BJP) done?" he asked.

He emphasized the Congress's focus on addressing the concerns of the poor, farmers, and youth, dismissing criticisms from the BJP and asserting that people see through the BJP's falsehoods.

"Today, the poor, farmers, and youth are suffering and the Congress is concerned about bringing them into the mainstream. We have nothing to do with what Amit Shah, (Prime Minister) Modiji or the BJP are saying. People have now understood their lies," he said, reported PTI.
